Little Baby Yellow Elephant

Nora has a multitude of “friends” around the house now including a “nocturnal, vegetarian” tiger.  In the pic above she is “feeding” her baby and below carrying the elephant around on her shoulders.  She also has a little baby girl named “Apple Dumpling” that she takes care of as well.  ”Biscuit” is her dog that goes on walks with us.  Thankfully Nora brings plastic baggies with because “Biscuit” tends to poop quite a bit on our walks around the block.

Man Bites Dog

Oma Oma is in town for the winter so we picked her up and brought her to lunch on my day off this week.  I’m glad we got a chance to introduce her to pickle chips…  They sure are tasty.

“One more Saturday night”

With Amanda at work, Nora and I have plenty of time to entertain ourselves.  This involves lots of music and a fair amount of dancing around.  Apparently it’s more fun with a bucket on your head.

Christmas decorations

Nana helped Nora make this Christmas tree for her door last time she visited.  It has everybody’s names on it and Nora is quite proud of her role in constructing it.

Brewery tours

We went to a couple brewery tour/tastings today (Independence Brewery and Hops & Grain) with Uncle Chris and Aunt B.  Independence had a band, lots of people, and dogs running all over so Nora thought it was great.  There were also some little babies there so she had fun talking to them as well.  We picked up some doggie treats for Abby and a couple more tasty beer samples at Hops & Grain before bringing Amanda dinner from Maoz’s.

Christmas #3

Our final Christmas celebration of the year took place up at Nana & Papa’s house with lots of Nora’s family that lives up near Decatur.  I didn’t take very many pics and even less turned out any good.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult to take a group picture of 8 children that could care less and only want to open presents.  By the time the wrapping paper settled, Nora had scored quite a few more gifts including some great books and a sleeping bag.

New toys

Santa also brought Nora Chutes & Ladders and Candyland which we’ve been playing with frequently.  She doesn’t really pay much attention during the game, but she still loves them.  She normally leaves midway through the game to make hot cocoa and cookies that you can see in the last pic.  One of her stocking stuffers was a little Dalmatian that makes noises when you press its nose.  For some reason, she is always on the lookout for Dalmatians when we are out of the house.

Christmas Day

We woke Nora up with “Jingle Bells” played by the little dog and snow man my folks gave her a couple days ago.  She had already changed into a “crazy outfit” and was ready to see what Santa brought her.  We set out a plate of cookies and milk for Santa the night before and Nora was very excited to see that he had eaten all the cookies/milk except for one little crumb.  The first pic below is her checking out the tree as soon as she came out of her room.  All she asked Santa for this Christmas was a car puzzle and a Mickey Mouse cellphone.  Santa came through on the puzzle, but there was a miscommunication about the cellphone and she got a Minnie Mouse one instead.  She still seems to enjoy it though.
